Seems like trolling to me. Or just another 16-year-old hippie “moral relativist” who thinks without any sense of irony that his morals are the right ones, and that his judgment of the car’s owner is somehow correct.

Do you live in a house and drive a car at all? For 80% of the world, you are waaaayyy too rich!

Apparently numerous high paying careers just became unethical. Let the general public decide everything while we’re at it.

Tangent: what about vinyl wrapping your car with a pattern that  looks   like it’s been vandalized already?

If it was an Aventador, I’d probably agree with the sentiment, but not the action, tbh. But I know a retired electrical engineer who drives a Huracan. He’s probably more ethical than the vandal.

Just a jealous moron looking for a reason to justify horrible behavior and make it look like somebody else’s fault.

Fuck that shitty moral equivalence bullshit

If you’re a real Social Justice Warrior you’ll become a police detective, or a journalist, or a politician to stop those “unethical acquisitions” from happening in the first place.

What if you drive a rat rod? Can’t vandalize something that is meant to look like it was vandalized.

Looks like a wrap with instagrammy idiocy built to invoke clicks.

Most of these cliched machines I see locally are rentals, techbros, or the devilspawn of residency-purchasing “investors” who don’t have to worry about audits or vetting or laws. The latter group could get some 1789 or 1917 justice, and it may not be a loss.

I was seeing an insurance adjuster who was switched over from home to auto at the time and she noted how often “random acts of violence” aren’t so random.

what makes me suspicious in this case is how much effort was put into scraping the hood and few along the door, but the nose, mirrors, glass are all untouched.

I understand the ire many feel about statements such as these, but here’s a summary of the argument against insane wealth, per an ethics teacher I had.

Background information: our social order is structured such that there is both extreme poverty and extreme wealth existing side by side. On one side, there are people so poor they cannot afford food or shelter; on the other, there are people who would be incapable of exhausting their wealth in a hundred lifetimes. This occurs without breaking any laws.

Here is the argument that such wealth is unethical:

1. Any system that allows poverty and extreme wealth to coexist is unethical.

2. This social order allows the coexistence of poverty and extreme wealth.

3. Therefore, the social order is unethical.

Here’s my analysis: the meme you posted assumes that it is the acquisition of wealth that is unethical- I do not agree with this statement. What is unethical is the system that allows the acquisition of such wealth. The responsibility of the participants of the system is not to punish those who benefit from the system- it is the participants’ responsibility to alter the system such that wealth and poverty do not coexist.

Moral relativism is dumb. Ethics are determined by your environment.

I wonder if he considers Steve Jobs or whoever founded Google to have earned their money ethically. Since both could have afforded that car and he wouldn’t have an OS for his smartphone to post this, or for his buddies to see it, without either of them.

Then again he’s probably one of those people who sees capitalism as only marginally better than slavery.

yeah, basically the standard “it’s not fair for anyone to have more money than me. Oh, but I wouldn’t willingly be poorer than I am.”
